A paint job
Arguably the most cost-effective way to brighten up your home is with a simple coat of paint. A coat of paint is something that you can do yourself that will give your home a fresh clean feel. You can focus on just the major areas, a few select feature walls or give the entire house a going over. Buyers will be looking at a range of homes and will expect at minimum a fresh coat of paint.
A nice outdoor area
Over summer, couples, singles and certainly families have been spending plenty of time outside. A nice outdoor area is a huge selling point for homebuyers. While all homes come with different outdoor areas, your goal should be to make yours as appealing as possible. Some simple things you can do is get a new lawn and put install it prior to your marketing starting. You can look at low-cost items like shade sales or even large outdoor umbrellas. It’s also worth trying to add some greenery with things like pot plants or some new garden beds. It gives the outdoor area a green and cool feeling which is perfect for a summer sale.
Improved storage pace
After the Christmas period and the sales that follow, people tend to purchase and receive more items than they really need. A big selling point in a property is always the amount of storage space that you have. If you have the budget, adding additional wardrobe spaces and shelving can make a huge difference to buyers. Some of the small things you can do is add in extra hooks on the back of doors and also simple shelving in places like the bathroom and kitchen.

Depending on your budget, you can look at renting furniture and staging your property to sell. However, this isn’t always easy – especially if you're still living in the home. Another option is to add some new finishing touches to your house. Things like new cushions, throw rugs and lampshades can dramatically change a room for the better. Even adding some nice modern artwork to the walls can give you a cheap way to make your home look nice and fresh.
